FPAC Special Meeting On Proposed
Finksburg Corridor Plan and Employment Campus Zone!!!! |
Who: All residents of Finksburg
and its environs are invited
What: To attend the Finksburg Planning Area Council Inc., special
general membership meeting
When: Thursday August 26th at 7 p.m.
Where: Sandy Mount United Methodist Church
Special
Meeting On Corridor Plan:
The
Finksburg Planning Area Council, Inc. has scheduled an urgent meeting Thursday
night August 26th to discuss the proposed Finksburg Corridor Plan
that includes an employment campus zone.
We want to hear from the community on what it thinks about the
plan. This is a great opportunity for
residents to come out and hear information about the proposal. It’s an opportunity to ask questions of
board members. If you go to the
finksburg.org website, there is background information on what the corridor
plan is, an executive board press release sent to media groups and other
pertinent information. The meeting
August 26th will hopefully provide a balanced, objective perspective
of the good and bad parts of the corridor plan and an employment campus zone
and how it will affect future growth in Finksburg. Included in this email is an attachment of a map showing where
the employment campus zone would be. The attached map is not a county map but a
“rough rendering” of the proposed area.
Here are
the issues to be addressed at the August 26th meeting:
1. Key points of Finksburg Corridor plan
2. FPAC pro-business philosophy
3. Explain employment campus zoning
4. Report on water use and how employment campus
would effect water availability
5. Report on any new traffic studies
P&Z Meeting:
The
Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission met August 9th to
review the proposed Finksburg Corridor Plan and employment zoning for land east
of Gerstell Academy. Two- P&Z
commissioners are recommending the proposed corridor plan include only the
Finksburg corridor, which is the area along Route 140 from the Baltimore County
line to Bethel Road. It would not
include the entire 4th election district, which the FPAC executive
board is in favor of. Another P&Z work session will be scheduled sometime in
the future before the proposed plan goes out for 60-day review. Public comment will then be accepted. We will keep you informed on the next
meeting date.
FPAC Picnic:
The
annual FPAC picnic was held July 22nd. Residents and FPAC members attended and enjoyed themselves under
the pavilion at Sandymount Park. The
Ottenberg bakery rolls were the hit of the gathering. Thanks Tracy Tiahrt!
Thanks also to everyone who showed up and to those who cooked (Don Hoffman) and brought food.
